Getting started with GoSimple Subscriptions

GoSimple is a subscription solution built for African Shopify merchants who cannot use Shopify Payments and need reliable support for local payment gateways.

This guide walks you through what GoSimple does, what you need before getting started, and the key steps required to activate subscriptions on your store.

What GoSimple does

GoSimple allows Shopify merchants to offer subscription-based products using Paystack or PayFast, while keeping the entire experience fully branded to their store.

With GoSimple, you can:

  • Offer standard, prepaid, or instalment subscriptions

  • Accept recurring payments via local gateways

  • Allow customers to manage their subscriptions through a customer portal

  • Support mixed carts with both subscription and one-time products

  • Choose between Shopify checkout or GoSimple’s custom checkout

Before you get started

Before installing GoSimple, make sure you have the following in place:

  • An active Shopify store

  • A Paystack or PayFast account

  • Collaborator code or staff account for us to access your Shopify store 

  • A store currency supported by your chosen payment gateway

If any of the above is missing, GoSimple will not be able to process subscription payments correctly.

Installing GoSimple

GoSimple is installed via an assisted setup using a custom Shopify app.

If you would like to get GoSimple installed on your store, please send an email to support@gosimple.app to get started. 

Once installation begins, the GoSimple team will:

  • Add the app to your Shopify store

  • Confirm checkout and storefront compatibility

  • Ensure the correct permissions are enabled

You do not need to configure anything in Shopify during installation unless specifically requested.

What to do next

Once GoSimple has been installed, we recommend: 

  • Adding your payment gateway information (if not already added)
